Beyond domestic projects, LIU-iQ undertakes international assignments facilitated by International Consulting Network (ICON). LIU Post is one of six universities from around the world participating in ICON. The five other participants are top universities in their respective country, centered in Singapore, South Korea, Israel, Sweden, and Chicago. Each semester LIU-iQ designates experienced student consultants to ICON projects. The students become part of interdisciplinary and international teams that research and collaborate virtually for about 12 weeks. Each team has its own corporate project to work with. The purpose of this type of student consulting is to primarily deliver creative, effective and sustainable solutions to clients, but also expose students to professional settings and different cultures, as well as build a professional network with lifelong bonds.
Conference
A conference is hosted by one of the ICON universities each semester. All students are flown in to the hosting university’s country to meet the team members and client in person after 12 weeks of virtual interaction. During the conference each team of students deliver its final recommendations to respective clients. To reassure satisfaction and fulfillment of project scope, the team present relevant findings on a weekly basis to the client.
